The Prince of Wales’s complementary health charity ceased operating today following the exposure this week of an alleged fraud and money-laundering scandal at the organisation.
The trustees of the Prince’s Foundation for Integrated Health, of which Prince Charles is president, said last night they had brought forward a planned decision to wind up the charity as a result of a continuing police investigation by Scotland Yard.
At dawn on Monday, a 49-year-old man, understood to be a former senior executive at the charity, and a 54-year-old woman were arrested at an address in north-west London and questioned on suspicion of fraud and money laundering.
The alleged crime is understood to have seriously undermined the charity’s finances, costing it as much as £300,000 – about a quarter of its annual revenue. The black hole emerged in the 2008 accounts.
The foundation operated for 17 years and became highly influential, but despite its constitutional independence from the royal household it was seen in some quarters as a vehicle for Prince Charles’s often controversial views on healthcare. The announcement of its closure was greeted with satisfaction by some leading specialists in the area of complementary medicine and pharmacology.

RICHARD DAWKINS, the atheist campaigner, is planning a legal ambush to have the Pope arrested during his state visit to Britain “for crimes against humanity”.
Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author, have asked human rights lawyers to produce a case for charging Pope Benedict XVI over his alleged cover-up of sexual abuse in the Catholic church.
The pair believe they can exploit the same legal principle used to arrest Augusto Pinochet, the late Chilean dictator, when he visited Britain in 1998.
The Pope was embroiled in new controversy this weekend over a letter he signed arguing that the “good of the universal church” should be considered against the defrocking of an American priest who committed sex offences against two boys. It was dated 1985, when he was in charge of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which deals with sex abuse cases.
According to declassified documents released by the National Security Archive today, former secretary of state and longtime Bilderberger Henry Kissinger rescinded instructions that would have prevented one of the worst terrorist attacks on US soil before September 11, 2001, from occurring.
On September 21, 1976 a car-bomb exploded in downtown Washington D.C., killing a former minister of the Chilean Allende government and his assistant- and signifying a major terrorist attack the likes of which had not been experienced on US soil before. The perpetrators were quickly identified as agents of the Pinochet regime, out to assassinate the figureheads of rival regimes all over the world. As it turns out, the string of attacks known as the Condor Murders, was part of a longtime covert operation by several South American intelligence agencies, consisting of international assassinations of dissidents and other enemies of fascist dictators.
Although initially instructions were sent to US ambassadors in South America to warn military leaders of “a series of international murders” likely to occur, word came down from the State Department only five days before the incident in Washington, stating that the secretary (Kissinger) “has instructed that no further action be taken on this matter.” In other words, Kissinger overruled the first instruction- namely to order the ambassadors to warn the South American heads of state of likely attacks on their persons, replacing it with the instruction to effectively keep silent about them- and by extension- allowing the attack in Washington to move forward unhindered.
The Public Record (TPR) online publication mentions that “the instructions effectively ended efforts by senior State Department officials to deliver a diplomatic demarche, approved by Kissinger only three weeks earlier, to express “our deep concern” over “plans for the assassination of subversives, politicians, and prominent figures both within the national borders of certain Southern Cone countries and abroad.” Aimed at the heads of state of Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, the demarche was never delivered.”, states TPR.
According to Peter Kornbluh, author of The Pinochet File: A Declassified Dossier on Atrocity and accountability this latest revelation is “the missing piece of the historical puzzle on Kissinger’s role in the action, and inaction, of the U.S. government after learning of Condor assassination plots.”
Indeed. Only two years after the assassination of former Chilean minister Orlando Letelier in Washington D.C., a cable was sent from Robert White (the U.S. ambassador to Paraguay) to Secretary of State Cyrus Vance, detailing a conversation White had with the chief of staff of Paraguay’s armed forces. During the interchange, the General had told White that the South American intelligence chiefs involved in Operation Condor “(kept) in touch with one another through a U.S. Communications installation in the Panama Canal Zone which cover(ed) all of Latin America.”
Professor of political science at Long Island University and chief expert on Operation Condor, J. Patrice McSherry, sums up U.S. involvement in the series of assassinations as follows: “U.S. military and intelligence officials supported and collaborated with Condor as a secret partner or sponsor.” That indeed seems to be the case. Not only does the Anglo-American establishment sponsor terrorist attacks abroad, it apparently does not shy away from allowing them to proceed within the U.S.
Although it has been widely suspected that Operation Condor (as the killing-spree had been dubbed) was supervised by U.S. intelligence services, this latest declassified instruction issued by Kissinger provides definitive proof.
Ironically, it was on September 11, 2001, that Chilean human rights lawyers filed a criminal case against both Kissinger and Pinochet for their involvement in Operation Condor. The very same day the worst terrorist attacks in the history of the United States occurred- in likewise suspicious circumstances (to put it mildly), likewise accommodated by the US intelligence community, and likewise pointing to an international conspiracy of geopolitical strategists, aiming to subdue sovereign nations before absorbing them into an international syndicate of robber-barons, commonly known as the New World Order.
There’s no telling if the two events are connected, but their timing is mighty interesting.
The Polish government and the National Bank of Poland, in a “rare moment of unity,” agree to weaken Poland’s currency, the zloty, in an act that would benefit Poland’s exporters at the expense of Poland’s trading partners—that is, the European Union, among others. Then, the next day, Poland’s president and the president of its national bank die in a plane crash.
In one of those rare moments of unity, the National Bank of Poland and the Polish government agreed on the need to weaken the Polish zloty, which over recent weeks has rebounded close to its pre-crisis strength. The currency’s strength is now seen a possible threat to economic recovery. After several verbal interventions over the past few days, the central bank intervened with real money Friday, for the first time in more than a decade.
The bank followed through on its Thursday warnings that it is “technologically and psychologically” prepared to enter the currency market to prevent “excessive strengthening of the zloty.” Government officials also said earlier this week that the “strong zloty” is damaging growth and, after Friday’s intervention, said they fully back the central bank’s move.
In moving to weaken the zloty, Poland’s leadership was placing the interests of the people of Poland ahead of the interests of the European collective known as the European Union.
Then, the next day, the president of Poland dies in a plane crash along with numerous other top leaders, including the president of the National Bank. From the Mail Online:

Russian news agencies reported at least 87 people died in the crash near Smolensk airport in western Russia, citing the Russian Emergencies Ministry. They reported 132 people were aboard the Tupolev Tu-154.
The Army chief of staff, Gen. Franciszek Gagor, National Bank President Slawomir Skrzypek and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Kremer were on the passenger list.
Poland has been dragging its feet in adopting the euro and joining the European Union, having pushed back its target date for doing so until 2015. Here in the U.S., we might say that Poland is not a “team player.” In the New World Order, bad things tend to happen to leaders who aren’t team players.
The Vatican has denounced attempts to link Pope Benedict XVI to a child abuse scandal in his native Germany.
Spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said there had been “aggressive” efforts to involve the Pope, but added: “It’s clear that these attempts have failed.”
The Holy See’s prosecutor meanwhile said that “to accuse the current Pope of hiding [cases of abuse] is false”.
The Pope’s former diocese earlier said he once unwittingly approved housing for a priest accused of child abuse.
The episode dates back to 1980 when he was archbishop of Munich and Freising, and known as Joseph Ratzinger.
However, a former deputy said he – not the future Pope – had made the decision to re-house the priest, who later abused other children and was convicted.
Tear up the settlement for the 9/11 workers and revive that rarest of government programs, one actually efficient and responsive to the needs of those it was supposed to serve.
That program was the federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. It disbursed more than $7 billion to 5,560 claimants, while generating overhead costs of only 3%.
The fund was prepared to continue indefinitely, rightly predicting that people might not fall ill until years after exposure to the Pit’s poisons and carcinogens.
But such foresight and efficiency had no place in government.
Congress let the fund expire at the end of 2003, even though lawmakers had to know many more recovery workers would get sick and that some would die.
A television station in Georgia triggered a panic when it broadcast a mock half-hour report about a Russian invasion of the country.
Emotions are still raw in many parts of Georgia after Russian tanks, troops and armored vehicles advanced into the former Soviet Republic in August 2008.
That invasion was triggered after Georgian troops attacked pro-Russian separatists in the breakaway republic of South Ossetia. In the fighting that ensued, each side offered conflicting figures on how many people died.
On Saturday night, the pro-government Imedi TV in Georgia broadcast what it called a “simulation” of what a fresh invasion would look like. And the broadcast ended with a note that the events in it were not real.
However, the show did not run any on-screen notes during the half-hour broadcast to alert viewers that what they were watching was not real.
MI5 would have acted on the intelligence gained by waterboarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the architect of the September 11 attacks, even if they had known how it was gained, sources say.

A security source has told the Daily Telegraph that the intelligence gained saved lives and as such, they were obliged to use it.
In most cases they are not aware of the source of the information they are given by foreign intelligence agencies, and where they are aware, they are rarely told about how it was obtained.
Nevertheless, they are obliged to act on it where it could save lives, sources say.
One of the key details to have come from the US interrogation of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was his reference to a man called Esa al-Britani – a man later identified as the terrorist Dhiren Barot.
It remains unclear whether this information was gained after the waterboarding.
Barot, from Willesden, North West London, was planning an attack on hotels in London using gas canisters packed into limousines in a plot he called the “gas limos project.”
Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, who was the director general of MI5 at the time of Mohammed’s arrest, told a meeting on Tuesday that she did not realise Mohammed was being tortured.
“I said to my staff, ‘Why is he talking?’ because our experience of Irish prisoners and terrorist was that they never said anything.
“They said the Americans say he is very proud of his achievements when questioned about it. It wasn’t actually until after I retired that I read that in fact he had been waterboarded more thah 163 times.”
In the face of rapidly growing populist anger, the Obama administration has signaled that it will fall back on a form of power well known to all successful dictators – rule by decree – and that Obama will use the very instrument he campaigned against to ram through the new world order agenda – Executive Orders, and lots of them.
“With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities,” reports the New York Times.
Despite the fact that Obama campaigned on the platform of eliminating abuse of executive powers which occurred under Bush, he is on course to pass more executive orders than Bush did during his eight years in the White House.
During a May 2008 campaign event in Colorado, Obama promised to “not use signing statements as a way of doing an end run around Congress,” and yet the administration’s announcement that they will use not merely signing statements, but wholesale Executive Orders, as a means of enforcing what Congress refuses to pass, is exactly that – an end run around the Constitution.
The government is keenly aware of the depth of unpopularity for measures like cap and trade, health care, bailouts, and other big government initiatives, which is why they are moving to rush them through by authoritarian decree before we see mass national strikes, protests and civil unrest.
Obama’s promise on signing statements was completely contradicted by his aides last month, who said that he “still reserves the right to ignore sections of bills he considers unconstitutional if objections have been lodged previously by the executive branch,” reports the NY Times.
Indeed, back in August the Times‘ Charlie Savage wrote that Obama “has issued signing statements claiming the authority to bypass dozens of provisions of bills enacted into law since he took office,” thereby doing exactly what he promised not to.
Over the course of his two terms in office, Bush had a total of 289 Executive Orders. After a little over a year in office, Obama has already passed 39 Executive Orders, meaning he is on course to be in the 300’s presuming he is re-elected in 2012.
Perhaps Obama’s most notorious Executive Order is the Establishment of the Council of Governors, which creates a body of ten state governors directly appointed by Obama who will work with the federal government to help advance the “synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States”.
Critics have expressed fears that the order further blurs the lines between state and federal power, as well as greasing the skids for more military involvement in domestic affairs, and has stoked fears that Obama may be laying the groundwork for his promised “national civilian security force”.
Hopefully, since Obama has broken just about every major promise he made during the campaign, while not scaling back but expanding U.S. military operations abroad, his agenda to create what many have denounced as a brown shirt domestic cadre, not too far removed from the ominous “green police” depicted in the recent Audi commercial, will also fall by the wayside in the face of vociferous populist anger towards his policies.
