7/7 victims’ anger over report ’spin’

Victims of the 7/7 suicide bombings have accused ministers of trying to “spin” a report on the terror attacks.

The security services are expected to be cleared of any blame for the atrocity when a watchdog’s findings are published this morning.

But victims and their families will only have three hours to read the Intelligence and Security Committee’s report before it is made public. In contrast, ministers have had the report for weeks and leaks have already said MI5 is in the clear.

Rachel North, who has spoken for victims of the 2005 London terror attacks, accused ministers of trying to “tilt the playing field”. She added: “I would say that they have treated us shabbily.”
